The ordination of Benjamin Hilton took place at The Cathedral Church of St Anne, Leeds on Saturday 20th July 2019 Fr Benjamin was ordained to the Sacred Priesthood by Right Reverend Marcus Nigel Stock, MA, STL, Tenth Bishop of Leeds.
This is the second Hilton family ordination in Leeds Cathedral in as many years, as Fr Ben now joins his brother, Rev Fr Joshua Hilton as a priest of the Diocese of Leeds. The Liturgy and music at the Mass were extremely moving, as was the Bishop’s Homily on the subject of service being at the very heart of priestly ministry.
Fr Benjamin Hilton celebrated his first Masses at the Cathedral and in St Joseph’s Pontefract the following day. His first appointment will be at St Robert’s Parish, Harrogate, assisting parish priest, Canon James Callaghan.
